Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender essential oil is a go-to for burns, cuts, and scrapes because of its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and analgesic properties. The scent also has a calming effect to keep you relaxed.
Pure lavender essential oil has a beautiful floral, woody scent that is known to help soothe and calm the skin + senses. Lavender oil is commonly used in aromatherapy and massage therapy to help reduce acne, relieve stress and headaches, cut jet lag, and ease insomnia.
Lavender essential oil is distilled from the flower spikes of Lavandula angustifolia. It is a flowering plant in the mint family Lamiaceae and is native to the Mediterranean region, but is now cultivated as a garden plant around the world. The Latin botanical name lavandula indicates "to wash", which is an allusion to its use as a soap. Long used as an infusion by herbalists and aromatherapists.
Lavender is widely used as a powerful antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent. It can be applied topically in low dilutions to the skin to soothe burns, bug bites, rashes and much more.
How to Use
To use lavender oil for acne, dilute it in coconut oil or another carrier oil and apply it to your skin after washing your face. You can also add 2 drops of lavender oil to your moisturizer or lotion and gently massage into the skin once or twice per week.
Massage it on your temples when you’re stressed for a soothing and relaxing effect. Or use a drop in your bath for a calming and detoxifying experience.
Our essential oils team suggests putting a few drops in your bath, adding it into your cold-pressed carrier oil or coconut oil and using it as a moisturizer on your face, or just sniffing away. When using an essential oil topically, we recommend patch testing the formula for 24 hours on a small area like your inner arm to make sure that you don’t have any allergic reactions.
We will always provide all natural, organic, handmade products.
